Egypt's Lost Pyramids

Much traffic to Egypt will require a fast consider the oldest step pyramid Djoser, within the Saqqara necropolis, before going to the grander (and much more modern) pyramids of Giza. Obviously "modern" being the relative term. The Giza pyramids were built around 2540 BC, several century after Djoser which dates around 2800 BC. While tombs and ancient homes are fascinating, pyramids appear to really capture our imaginations.
Previously few years, a team of Egyptologists used satellite and infra-red imaging to unearth new potential archaeological sites. It has been highly successful and results arrived on the scene now. The BBC reports which more than 1,000 tombs and 3,000 ancient settlements were revealed, together with 17 pyramids. It is a remarkable study, one that's certain to be relevant to a number of other areas of the world full of ancient settlements. Additionally, it means more pyramids for all of us to marvel at
